Bid Manager
This is not your average Bid Manager role.
We don't need someone to manage bids - we need someone who knows how to win them.
We are looking for a proven operator who can take full ownership of the process and shape how we grow.
This is a strategic, hands-on role. You will be the driving force behind our bids - not just writing proposals but building the systems and strategies that help us secure the right projects and grow in the right direction.
We're at an exciting point in our journey. With increasing demand for decarbonisation and public sector retrofit projects, the opportunity is huge. Now we need someone who can turn that opportunity into growth - someone who's confident navigating frameworks, dynamic purchasing systems, and competitive tenders and has a track record of getting results.
You will be responsible for the entire bid lifecycle, from identifying and qualifying opportunities, to creating standout submissions, and ultimately winning high-value work. You will have the autonomy to build a scalable bidding process that aligns with our commercial goals, while having the full support of senior leadership when you need it.
You will also benefit directly from the value you help create through our performance-based Bid Incentive Scheme, which successful submissions that meet or exceed key targets.
If you're a confident communicator, a sharp problem-solver, and someone who thrives on autonomy and accountability - this is your opportunity to lead, influence, and grow with us.
LET'S BE CLEAR: THIS CAN BE A CHALLENGING AND EXCITING ROLE.
THE CHALLENGES:
You will need to:
· Lead bidding projects, not support
· Solve problems, not just identify
· Meet deadlines, not wait for instructions
You will need to quickly:
· Understand complex technical services
· Manage multiple live bids and frameworks simultaneously
· Stay laser-focused on what wins (and what doesn't)
· Build a scalable, streamlined bidding function that delivers under pressure
THE UPSIDE?

· The projects you bid for
· You will be seen, trusted, and given space to grow into a future Director role
· You will work on innovative, meaningful projects across domestic, commercial, and public sectors
· You will have autonomy, trust and real ownership
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU:
· Competitive Salary + Bid Incentive Scheme
· 28 days Holiday (Plus 8 Days Public Holidays)
· 12% Overall Pension
· Comprehensive Training and Personal Development Plan
· Monday to Friday (Flexi Start / Finish Time)
· Hybrid Working (2 days WFH / 3 days office-based)
ADDITIONAL COMPANY BENEFITS:

· Holiday Buy and Sell Scheme
· Electrical Vehicle Scheme
· Cycle to Work Scheme
· Sustainable Volunteering Day

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

· Proven experience applying for frameworks, tenders, and complex bid processes
· Confidence in navigating public procurement
· The ability to translate technical input into persuasive commercial responses
· Strong project & time management skills, ability to meet tight deadlines
· A strategic mind with a hands-on attitude
· The confidence to make "Bid" or "No Bid Decisions"
· Experience in low-energy buildings, retrofit, or renewable technologies is a bonus
