About Us
Centrepoint is the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity. Bradford Foyer provides semi‑independent supported accommodation for young people aged 18‑25 who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Our service focuses on supporting young people to develop skills, confidence and resilience needed to live independently and sustain a tenancy. We partner with education, employment, and training (EET) providers and promote positive wellbeing, independence, and long‑term stability.
The Role
We are looking for moderate and resilient Support and Progression Officers to join our team. You will play a key role assisting young people to achieve positive outcomes, maintain their tenancy, and move towards independent living. This dynamic role requires strong relationship‑building skills, safeguarding awareness, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced supported housing environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing a caseload of young people delivering person‑centred support tailored to individual needs.
* Developing and regularly reviewing support plans and HomeStars, ensuring compliance with service standards.
* Supporting young people to engage in education, employment, and training (EET) opportunities.
* Promoting independent living skills including budgeting, cooking, tenancy management, and personal wellbeing.
* Completing risk assessments (RAMPs) and maintaining accurate, up‑to‑date records in line with organisational and regulatory requirements.
* Safeguarding young people by identifying risks and responding appropriately in line with procedures.
* Working collaboratively with internal teams and external professionals (e.g., social workers, housing providers, health services).
* Contributing to the health and safety of the service, including checks and incident reporting.
* Facilitating and encouraging participation in group activities and community engagement.
About You
* Experienced working with young people or vulnerable adults (supported housing desirable).
* Knowledgeable of safeguarding, risk management, and professional boundaries.
* Strong communicator able to build positive and professional relationships.
* Organised and confident in maintaining accurate records and compliance standards.
* Able to work flexibly, including weekends and shift patterns.
* Empathetic, resilient, and committed to achieving positive outcomes for young people.
* Familiar with supported housing / Ofsted framework (desirable).
What You Will Be Doing
* Delivering structured key working sessions to support progression goals.
* Supporting young people to sustain their accommodation and reduce risks of eviction.
* Encouraging engagement with Life skills via the lifewise programme.
* Monitoring and reviewing progress against support plans and KPIs.
* Responding to incidents and supporting young people during times of crisis.
* Promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.
