Principal Planning Officer, East Midlands Pay rate to £29.26 per hour Contract role, Local Government Planning We are recruiting for an experienced Principal Planner in Rutland. This is on a temporary basis for an initial period of three months, while we undertake recruitment for the permanent post. The successful candidate must be highly experienced and able to hit the ground running, with a proven track record of managing major planning applications. As this is a temporary post the successful applicant will need to be comfortable picking up applications part way through and moving the applications on to determination. This includes major industrial developments and residential schemes of up to 200 dwellings. The role requires someone who is self-reliant, well-organised, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. As most of the team work remotely, the potholder must be confident using IT systems and able to manage their workload effectively from a remote setting. Experience with Idox Uniform software is preferable. The role will also involve undertaking site visits, so access to transport and flexibility to travel within the area is essential. An initial induction will be provided at the office to introduce internal systems and processes. Following this, the officer will be able to work remotely for the majority of the week. Office space is available should they prefer to work on-site more regularly.
