Overview
We are a leading renewable energy company delivering high-quality solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and EV charging installations for residential, commercial, and local authority clients. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a qualified and experienced Renewables Electrician to support installation, testing, and commissioning of clean energy systems across Oxfordshire and surrounding areas.
Job Summary
The Renewables Electrician will be responsible for the electrical installation, wiring, inspection, testing, and commissioning of solar PV systems, battery storage units, and electric vehicle (EV) chargers. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in renewable technologies, a solid understanding of BS 7671, and the ability to work independently to a high standard of safety and workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
* Install and commission residential and commercial EV charging points.
* Carry out AC/DC isolator installation, inverter connections, generation meters, and consumer unit upgrades.
* Perform electrical wiring (single- and three-phase), containment, and distribution board works.
* Conduct inspection, testing, and certification of completed installations.
* Complete Minor Works, Electrical Installation Certificates (EIC), and handover documentation.
* Perform fault finding and maintenance on existing renewable systems.
* Ensure all work complies with BS th Edition), MCS requirements, and health & safety regulations.
* Carry out site surveys and assist with technical planning when required.
Essential Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
* Inspection & Testing (or equivalent)
* Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable Qualifications
* Battery Storage Installation Certification
* Solar PV Installation Qualification (e.g. City & Guilds / LCL Awards)
* EV Charger Installation Qualification (e.g. City & Guilds
* Experience with MCS-compliant installations
* ECS Gold Card
Skills & Experience
* Knowledge of DNO applications and grid connections (preferred)
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
* Ability to work safely at height (rooftops and scaffolding)
* Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
* Strong communication skills and customer-facing professionalism
* High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
