Community Paediatric Physiotherapy 37.5 hours/week
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a paediatric physiotherapist to join our community team. This post is part of the Cheyne Child Development Service based at Parkview Centre for Health and Wellbeing in White City in excellent purpose built facilities.
The friendly community physiotherapy team provides assessment and intervention for infants, children and young people aged 0-19 years. The physiotherapy service consists of teams based at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, Parkview Centre and Jack Tizard School. This role is predominately based at Parkview, however occasional attendance at Chelsea and Westminster hospital is required.
The Parkview Centre is in White City next to excellent transport links and is close to wide variety of leisure opportunities and in easy reach of green spaces like Holland Park.
This post would suit an experienced Physiotherapist looking for a supportive team with good multidisciplinary working across the child development service and strong links with the paediatric orthopaedic service. The team has a strong focus on treatment and intervention time with excellent clinical opportunities such as early intervention, aquatherapy and MDT motor clinics. You will lead the physiotherapy service at the Parkview site with excellent support from the band 8a clinical lead.

You will carry a manageable caseload of children aged 0-19 years and be responsible for clinics, providing early intervention, over 3s, and services to children with cerebral palsy or other neuro-disabilities. This may include hydrotherapy and early intervention clinics. This will include joint working with the multi-disciplinary team, consultant paediatricians and physiotherapy orthopaedic practitioners. Good established links with equipment providers are in place.
You should have paediatric experience with demonstrable knowledge of specific paediatric assessments and interventions, able to prioritise your workload and time, and support others to do the same. Good communication skills are essential, as you will be working independently and alongside other health and social care professionals; supervising band 6s, assistants and students.
Chelsea and Westminster therapy department is committed to evidence based practice and the development of clinical skills are supported through a programme of regular in-service training, supervision and appraisal.
