Level 2 BSL Teaching Assistant – Specialist Provision, Gateshead A welcoming and inclusive specialist provision in Gateshead is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Level 2 BSL Teaching Assistant to join their team from September on a full-time basis. This rewarding opportunity involves supporting deaf and hearing-impaired pupils to fully access learning, build confidence and thrive within a nurturing educational environment. The role will involve: Providing tailored support to pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis Using British Sign Language (BSL) to facilitate communication throughout the school day Supporting teaching staff in delivering accessible learning experiences Promoting independence, confidence and positive engagement Assisting with pupils' social, emotional and academic development Recording observations and supporting progress monitoring We're looking for someone who: Holds a Level 2 BSL qualification Has a genuine passion for supporting children and young people Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills Is patient, caring and adaptable Has experience working with children or young people (desirable) Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one What Protocol Education offers: Weekly PAYE pay Full-time role starting in September Dedicated consultant support throughout your placement Free CPD and professional development opportunities If this sounds like the job role for you - apply today!
