This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people who require additional emotional, social and behavioural support to engage positively in education and achieve their potential. The Role: As a Support Worker within this SEMH setting, you will: Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs Build positive and trusting relationships with students Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour and social development Work alongside teaching and pastoral staff to create a safe, nurturing learning environment Implement behaviour support strategies and use de-escalation techniques where needed Encourage confidence, independence and positive engagement in learning Act as a positive role model and provide consistent pastoral support throughout the school day We Are Looking For Someone Who Has: Experience supporting children or young people in education, care, youth work or similar settings A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient approach Resilience, empathy and the ability to build rapport quickly Experience with SEMH, SEND, trauma-informed practice or behaviour support is desirable Relevant qualifications are welcomed but not essential This Role Would Suit: Support Workers Behaviour Mentors Teaching Assistants Youth Workers Residential Support Workers Graduates looking to gain experience in specialist education Why Join Tradewind Recruitment?
