We are seeking a hardworking and dedicated Donation Specialist to join our friendly and enthusiastic retail team at our flagship shop in Creekmoor.
Role Overview
You will be the first point of contact for donations dropped off, so excellent communication skills and a bright, happy outlook are essential to ensure a welcoming, friendly, and positive experience with Julia's House.
This role involves working in a busy, fast-paced environment and being an integral part of the team responsible for receiving and moving large volumes of donations, including furniture deliveries from our supporters and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
1. Receiving and sorting donations, including furniture.
2. Manual handling of goods, including lifting and moving furniture.
3. Advising donors about Gift Aid and its importance.
4. Ensuring health & safety standards are maintained.
Requirements
* Strong work ethic and good organisational skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and apply sound judgement.
* Manual handling training will be provided.
* Relevant experience and knowledge of health & safety preferred.
Additional Details
This is a 30-hour per week permanent contract, based on a rota covering shop hours (Monday - Sunday). You will be expected to work one weekend day, as weekends are often our busiest times.
Interviews will be scheduled at a mutually convenient time.
