We're working with a highly reputable client in the fire and security sector who is looking to expand their field team. This is a fantastic permanent, full-time opportunity for a skilled Field Service Engineer to join a growing business and work across a regional patch.
The Role
As a Field Service Engineer, you’ll be responsible for:
1. Conducting planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on fire safety systems in line with BS5839
2. Attending emergency call-outs, performing fault-finding, and modifying existing systems
3. Providing outstanding customer service on-site and ensuring compliance with industry standards
4. Completing service reports and company documents in a timely and accurate manner
5. Communicating on-site issues and additional work requirements to the Field Services Manager
6. Supporting installation teams on occasion
7. Following strict health & safety procedures and always wearing appropriate PPE
What You’ll Need
Essential:
8. Previous experience as a Fire Alarm Engineer or similar field-based role
9. Strong fault-finding and system modification experience
10. Excellent communication and time-management skills
11. Full UK driving licence
12. IT proficiency (for service reports, scheduling, etc.)
13. FIA Foundation Certification and sound knowledge of BS5839
Desirable
14. Additional FIA training or specialist courses
15. Experience working in customer-facing field roles
16. Familiarity with quality audits and compliance procedures
