This isn't just a Senior Quality Engineer role. It's a succession plan.
A long-established precision engineering manufacturer is strengthening its Quality function as it moves from complex small-batch work into more stable, repeat production.
They supply high-integrity, close-tolerance components into sectors where quality genuinely matters, including Automotive, Aerospace, Defence and wider advanced manufacturing. With an upturn in workload and a shift in how the business operates, they are investing in the future of their Quality department.
The long-term aim of this role is to develop into leading the Quality function, allowing the current Senior Quality Manager to step away from day-to-day firefighting and into a more strategic role as the business continues to grow.
If you enjoy structured, data-led quality, using core quality tools properly, and working closely with a senior quality leader who will actively develop you, this is a standout opportunity.
What You'll Be Doing
* Supporting the shift from small-batch to stable, higher-volume manufacturing
* Leading QSHE / ESHQ activities with a strong process focus
* Creating and maintaining FMEAs, Control Plans, control provisions and work instructions
* Managing control validation (SPC & MSA) to ensure robust, capable processes
* Interpreting validation data and presenting clear, objective insights to support decision-making
* Handling exceptions, containment, root cause investigations and corrective actions
* Supporting FAIRs, NCR management and continuous improvement activity
* Working closely with the Senior Quality Manager and gaining exposure across EH&S
What We're Looking For
* Experience in APQP within a volume automotive setting or similarly structured environment
Strong understanding of core Quality Tools: FMEA, APQP, Control Plans, MSA, SPC
* Exposure to regulated manufacturing (Aerospace, Medical, high-precision machining) is highly beneficial
* Someone who enjoys structured, process-driven quality work and can adapt to higher throughput
* Confident analysing data and presenting it clearly and objectively
* A proactive mindset, keen to develop new skills and continuously improve processes
Why Join?
* Opportunity to influence and strengthen quality systems during a key growth phase
* Clear progression into wider quality leadership
* Close mentorship and collaboration with the Senior Quality Manager
* Genuine development into EH&S and broader quality responsibility
* A stable, well-respected precision engineering business with a forward-thinking approach
