Job Description
Our international freight forwarding client based in Essex is currently looking to appoint an experienced permanent European Road Freight Import Clerk to join their team.
As the Import Clerk you will be responsible for assisting with the day to day operations of the Import Clerk
* Assisting Department Manager in the smooth running of the department
* Entering jobs and manifests onto the FMS system
* Supplying the warehouse and all other depots with information required to enable the prompt and efficient off-loading of trailers.
* Liaising with Agents and customers alike to ascertain their needs and requirements in order to ensure all deliveries are completed in a timely fashion.
* Daily collating of necessary and required information from Hauliers of arrival/departure times.
* Daily calculation of prices and costs for certain manifests.
* Daily up-dating of spreadsheets with relevant information.
* Assisting the department manager with the consolidation and presentation of data for monthly KPI reporting
Experience Required:
* Proven experience of working in a similar role
* Good communication skills
* Computer literate
In return, the successful Import Clerk will be offered up to £29,000
Hours are Monday to Friday 9.00am - 5.30pm, although some flexibility may be needed due to the demands of the business.
