Due to continued growth, a tier one automotive supplier based in Birmingham is hiring for a maintenance engineer to join their well established team. With a superb manufacturing facility that includes a variety of automated and semi-automated machinery, this role offers a ton of training and personal development, and fosters a fantastic work culture where everyone supports each other to get the job done. Working across a continental shift pattern of 4 on 4 off, you’ll be at the forefront of tackling urgent breakdowns, as well as continuous improvement / PPM’s to ensure the machinery and production run smoothly. Responsibilities for the maintenance engineer include - - To provide both electrical and mechanical breakdown maintenance to a range of machinery that includes presses, pneumatic tooling, material handling systems, robots, and much more - Reacting to urgent breakdowns, reducing machine downtime to a minimum - PLC fault finding and interrogation to trace back faults - Ensure adequate spares and parts are ordered correctly - Following PPM’s to ensure all equipment is routinely serviced and inspected - Supporting the maintenance manager with facilitating the in house CMMS To be successful in this role of maintenance engineer, we’re looking for - - Previous experience as a multi skilled maintenance engineer or maintenance technician - Apprentice trained, and hold a recognized qualification in either mechanical or electrical engineering - Be able to carry out repairs and breakdown response to capital equipment - Understand and interpret electrical & mechanical drawings - Flexibility towards working continental shifts
