Large Slaughterhouses and Animal by‑products installations are required to use ‘Best Available Techniques’ (BAT) to reduce emissions to air, water and land. Responsibilities
* Drafting BAT Conclusions and liaising with Technical Working Groups.
* Presenting a final document suitable for publication as a new, UK‑wide, environmental standard for industry.
* Working with, and writing technical documents.
* Managing projects and driving to completion.
* Ensuring inclusive incident management objectives are incorporated into personal development plans.
Some travel and overnight stays may be required.
Qualifications
* At least 5 years working experience with a solid understanding of environmental regulation within the slaughterhouse and animal by‑products industry.
* Specialist knowledge and understanding of the Slaughterhouse and Animal By‑Products industry.
* Good understanding of process engineering and environmental issues.
* Good understanding of environmental legislation and policy in the UK.
* Capability to critically analyse technical arguments and data.
* Experience in collecting and technically analysing complex industrial data.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to build and maintain relationships.
* Planning, prioritising and organising tasks and resources to ensure timely effective results.
* Responding flexibly to challenges and adept at building consensus.
* Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Contract Length
Up to 2 years from appointment.
Interview Process
Applications will be “blind” assessed using your answers to the competency questions. Interviews will be held using MS Teams with 4 capability based questions and a presentation.
