Secondary Teaching Assistant – Barnsley
Location: Barnsley, South Yorkshire
Salary: £85 – £100 per day

GSL Education is seeking motivated and reliable Secondary Teaching Assistants to join supportive secondary schools across Barnsley. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in the academic and personal development of pupils at Key Stages 3 and 4.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one or small group support to help students stay engaged and meet their learning goals.
* Assist teachers in delivering dynamic and inclusive lessons.
* Support pupils with special educational needs (SEN), behavioural difficulties, or additional learning needs.
* Help foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
* Encourage student confidence, independence, and active participation in lessons.
* Supervise students during non-teaching times such as breaktimes and school activities.
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience working with secondary-aged pupils in an educational or youth setting.
* A strong understanding of SEN, Autism, ADHD, and behaviour management approaches is desirable.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
* A calm, adaptable, and proactive attitude to supporting learning.
* Confidence working both independently and as part of a team.
* An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).
