The Role
The Communications Manager plays a key role in the Institute, collaborating across the team and providing expert guidance on communications. They will help craft key messages for various initiatives, including fundraising campaigns and promoting the Institute's leadership in the scientific community. A significant project involves redesigning and relaunching the Institute's website. The Communications Manager will build strong relationships within the Department and with visiting researchers to effectively communicate the Institute's activities and research.
The successful candidate will contribute to an evolving communications strategy aimed at elevating the Institute's profile and impact. They will work with the director, senior management, the Newton Gateway, and external consultants to meet strategic objectives.
What You Will Bring to the Role
Experience across a broad range of communications disciplines such as media, reputation management, and stakeholder liaison is essential. Excellent planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required, along with the ability to communicate complex scientific topics engagingly to diverse audiences.
