The role
You’ll lead the development function while staying close to the work. Writing code, solving problems, and shaping technical direction.
1. Own end-to-end delivery across web and platform projects
2. Work across WordPress (custom themes), Next.js, React, PHP and modern JavaScript
3. Build and integrate RESTful APIs and headless CMS architectures
4. Work with SQL, PostgreSQL and database-driven systems
5. Manage hosting environments, servers, DNS, domains and deployments
6. Get involved in CI/CD workflows, testing, QA and performance optimisation
7. Scope, plan and price technical work
8. Drive better processes, workflows and development standards
9. Build internal tools, dashboards and automation
10. Play a key role in how AI, automation and agentic workflows are rolled out across the agency

11. Strong hands-on development background across PHP, JavaScript frameworks, APIs and databases
12. Experience with WordPress, Next.js and modern frontend/backend builds
13. Comfortable working across infrastructure, hosting and deployment
14. Experience in fast-paced, client-facing environments
15. Able to own projects from idea through to delivery
16. Clear communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
17. Someone who improves how things are done, not just maintains them
