Research Associate/Fellow – Lithium–Sulfur Battery Team
Salary: £31,387 to £46,485 per annum, depending on skills and experience (minimum £35,608 with a relevant PhD). Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.
Location: University Park, Nottingham.
Employment: Full-time (36.25 hours per week), fixed-term until 1 December 2026, with possibility of further extension.
Responsibilities
* Work with the lithium‑sulfur battery team as part of the Faraday Institution LiStar project.
* Develop electrolytes and additives that enable high performance lithium‑sulfur batteries.
* Conduct experiments, collect and analyse data, and contribute to scientific publications.
* Collaborate with the Nottingham Applied Materials and Interfaces Group, reporting to Dr Lee Johnson, Dr Graham Newton, and Dr Darren Walsh.
Qualifications
* PhD (or nearly completed) in physical chemistry, synthetic chemistry, electrochemistry, materials chemistry, or a related discipline.
* Strong experimental and analytical skills in chemistry research.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
