Main Duties and Responsibilities
Join De Montfort University (DMU) in Leicester as a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Paramedicine.
We have two exciting lecturing opportunities for a paramedic or nursing/allied health professionals with emergency care experience to join our academic team. Post holders will predominantly support the delivery of education on paramedic, urgent, emergency, and unscheduled care to student paramedics/apprentices, as well as other undergraduate and post-registration health professionals. The successful candidate will join a team of enthusiastic, committed and friendly staff and will work collaboratively with colleagues across the School, Faculty and the wider University.
Role
The position involves teaching undergraduate students from a wide range of backgrounds, contributing to the assessment process, designing and developing innovative learning materials and assessments, and participating fully in curriculum development. You will be expected to work collaboratively with clinical colleagues and other stakeholders, support students, supervisors and assessors in clinical placements, and actively engage in scholarship, research and professional/external income generation activities to contribute to the University / School’s objectives.
Ideal Candidate
You are a practitioner registered with the HCPC or the NMC with experience in the field of emergency care or paramedicine. You have experience sharing your knowledge effectively with learners and are driven by a passion for teaching and commitment to high-quality service delivery.
You will have experience in teaching undergraduate students, assessment, curriculum development, and supporting clinical placements.
Contract Details
0.6 (FTE) 2 year fixed term contract, with job share and secondment opportunities (subject to line manager approval).

If you are successful at the interview stage, you will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
