THE EMPLOYER IS: EVERY SEASON GROUNDS MAINTENANCE LTD We’re looking for individuals to join our team as General Operative. This is an entry-level role ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors and is keen to learn new skills. No previous experience or qualifications are required - just a willingness to get stuck in. You’ll be supporting our tree care and grounds maintenance teams with a variety of outdoor tasks. Training will be provided, and you’ll gain valuable hands on experience in grounds maintenance, and safe tool use. Successful applicants will need to obtain ESB induction and UA1 (Utility Arboriculture) Ireland for any works related to our contract with ESB. This will be arranged by us. It is not required for the ground’s maintenance contracts.
Responsibilities
* Assist with pruning and clearing vegetation.
* Support tree surgeons from the ground during tree work.
* Use hand tools and basic machinery such as lawnmowers, strimmers, wheelbarrows, and wood chippers (training provided).
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
* Follow health and safety procedures, including correct use of PPE and hazard awareness.
* Carry out general groundskeeping duties to improve outdoor spaces.
* Work as part of a team to complete tasks efficiently.
* Keep basic records and follow instructions from supervisors.
* Learn and apply safe manual handling and lifting techniques.
* Develop awareness of waste management and site safety regulations.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
* Full driving licence.
* CSR/Safepass.
* Manual handling (training can be provided).
Desirable Skills
* First Aid at Work Certificate.
* Wood Chipper Operation Certificate (essential for operating manually fed chippers).
* City & Guilds Unit 207 - Powered Pole Pruner Maintenance and Operation.
* Category B&E driving licence.
* PA1 and PA6 Pesticide Application Certificates (for safe handling and spraying of pesticides).
* NPTC or equivalent certifications (training can be provided to the right candidate): CS30 - Chainsaw maintenance and cross-cutting and/or CS31 - Felling small trees.
