Offer description

When you join KPMG Ireland, you are joining a community of over 4,200 employees who collectively work together, both in person and virtually, to achieve their full potential.

We are known as an organisation who want you to come as you are and do work that truly matters. Joining KPMG Ireland is an opportunity to enhance your career, not only in the work that you enjoy doing, but equally through the global connections that you make, the lifelong learning that you can accomplish and the chance to make your mark.

Location: Belfast, as part of our hybrid working model.

Grade: Consultant

Contract type: Permanent

Are you the next UX/UI Design Consultant to join our Belfast Centre of Excellence?

Who You Are:

You have 1–3 years’ experience designing user-centric digital experiences in complex, fast-paced environments, ideally across large-scale platforms or enterprise solutions. You are passionate about solving real-world problems through thoughtful, intuitive design. You approach challenges with a human-first mindset, applying UX and UI principles to design scalable and accessible digital experiences that deliver measurable value to users and clients alike.

You’re adept at gathering and translating user needs and business requirements into engaging wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs. You are curious about how people interact with technology and use design thinking to identify opportunities and improve usability. You may come from a background in design, human-computer interaction, psychology, computer science, or another creative and analytical field—we value diverse experiences and perspectives.

You’re comfortable with ambiguity, take ownership of your work, and iterate based on feedback from users and stakeholders. You enjoy bringing clarity to complexity and can articulate your design decisions clearly. You contribute to presentations, client deliverables, and user research efforts with confidence and attention to detail.

You thrive in cross-functional teams, collaborating with developers, product managers, data scientists, and subject matter experts to deliver cohesive experiences. You understand that great design is both functional and beautiful, and you work collaboratively to deliver user outcomes that align with business goals. You are continuously learning and looking to grow as a designer and consultant.

Preferred Technical Experience

We don’t expect you to tick every box but if you’re excited about the role and bring some of the skills below, we’d love to hear from you.

* Experience creating user flows, wireframes, mock-ups, and interactive prototypes.
* Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar.
* Familiarity with user research methods (e.g., usability testing, surveys, interviews) and the ability to apply insights to design decisions.
* Understanding of accessibility principles and inclusive design standards (e.g., WCAG).
* Exposure to responsive and adaptive design for web and mobile platforms.
* Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS, and how designs are implemented in code.
* Awareness of design systems and the ability to contribute to or maintain one.
* Experience or interest in working with data-driven applications or visualisation tools.
* Comfort working in agile or iterative environments and collaborating with technical teams.
* Interest in emerging technologies such as AI-powered design tools (e.g., Figma AI, Microsoft Copilot), and a willingness to experiment with new approaches.

What you will be doing:

You’ll be part of a multi-disciplinary team using human-centred design to create experiences that solve user needs and support business outcomes. You will work with clients and stakeholders to understand user behaviour, map customer journeys, and identify experience gaps. You will design user interfaces and contribute to the end-to-end delivery of digital solutions, from discovery through to implementation.

You’ll collaborate closely with product teams, developers, and data experts to ensure that your designs are technically feasible and aligned with strategic goals. You’ll present your work to stakeholders, contribute to workshops, and build your design and consulting capabilities along the way. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to KPMG’s growing experience design capability and help define how we deliver innovative, human-led digital solutions.

What you can expect:

KPMG Ireland is building a pioneering team in human-centred design and digital delivery. You’ll be supported by leadership and surrounded by people who are passionate about creating exceptional experiences. You’ll work across industries and sectors, gaining exposure to a wide range of client problems and opportunities.

You can expect continuous learning, mentorship, and hands-on experience from day one. You’ll contribute to solving real-world challenges through design and have the chance to grow into a trusted design expert and consultant. You'll also be encouraged to stay on top of design trends, best practices, and emerging tools, helping us remain at the cutting edge of UX and UI design.
