Reed is proud to partner with a well-established Cheddar based business seeking a Supply Planner to join their collaborative and long-standing supply chain team.
Within this team, there’s a wealth of experience, the shortest-serving member has been with the business for 10 years!
We’re looking for someone who is not only passionate about supply chain but also keen to develop professionally by studying towards CIPS Levels 4–6 in the future.
This is an exciting opportunity to manage key supplier relationships, ensure smooth purchasing processes, and contribute to the company’s continued success.

Contract: Full-time, PermanentHours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Working between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm (most work 08:30–16:30) with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.Hybrid Working: After training (approx. 6 months) – 2 days WFH, 3 days office
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the main point of contact for approximately six supplier accounts (including several large suppliers).
* Raise purchase orders, manage stock levels, and resolve quality issues promptly.
* Collaborate closely with internal teams and overseas colleagues to maintain product availability and inventory value.
* Negotiate changes to purchase plans and ensure agreements are implemented effectively.
* Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
* Occasional international travel to visit suppliers and attend trade fairs.
Skills & Experience
* Background in manufacturing or supply chain preferred.
* Strong data handling skills with advanced Excel knowledge (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables for example would be advantageous).
* Experience with ERP/MRP systems (training provided if needed).
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
