Join our Utility Division working on the Thames Water contract to deliver practical solutions for waste-water networks and drainage problems. We operate 24/7 and provide full training, PPE and equipment to ensure high standards of operation.
Position Details
Position: HGV Class 2 Drainage Engineer
Location: Kidlington Depot, Thames Valley Region (Kidlington, Oxfordshire)
Job Type: Permanent, full-time
Hours: 4 On 4 Off, 40.25 hours (working both earlies and lates)
Salary: £50,000 per annum (made up of basic pay, overtime, on call allowance and bonuses)

Responsibilities
* Travelling to residential sites via a HGV in a two-person team, around the region, powering a high-pressure water jet for restoration
* Clean, clear and maintain drainage systems
* Record each job report correctly on the specialist equipment provided
* Run diagnostics and repairs on drains
* Deliver good customer service
* Maintain good health and safety practice while carrying out works
* Ensure vehicle stock is full and replenished
* Comply with health and safety responsibilities, i.e. PPE / safe site setups protecting employees, the public and other road users
* Utilise VISTEC and Salesforce platforms
* Operate JHL specification vacuum tankers and associated equipment
* Safely access vehicle cabs, sites and offices using correct procedures
* Manipulate flexible pipework in a safe manner using correct manual handling techniques
* Work unsupervised in all weather conditions, wearing correct PPE or using the lone worker system
* Dynamically risk assess site access and working conditions on arrival
* Liaise with the client regarding process and updates
* Provide support to colleagues
* Conduct thorough inspections of tools, equipment and plant before and after use
* Report any defects or malfunctions
* Carry out risk assessments and maintain a mature approach to risk perception
* Be aware of Lanes Group policies and responsibilities
* Any other reasonable ad-hoc tasks as requested by management
About You
The ideal candidate will be hard working and compliant with health and safety standards. Experience in High Pressure Jetting equipment is useful but not essential. Other drainage qualifications (e.g. NRSWA and Confined Spaces) are an advantage. A minimum of a HGV Class 2 licence, CPC certificate, and up-to-date digi tachograph card are required.

Additional Information
We operate 24/7 and as such you are required to work flexible hours, weekends and participate in an on-call rota. Full training / PPE / use of company equipment will be provided to ensure that all our drainage engineers have the right tools, competency, and confidence to undertake the work to a high standard.
