* Within SQEP profile, preparing and/or checking designs, analyses, reports, drawings, specifications, and other documents in support of Nuclear and Non-Nuclear related plant, facility and equipment within the company's licensed, authorised and operational sites, or in support of external contracts.
* Participate in problem solving for the development of technical solutions to deficiencies or in the development of new designs.
* Support the review and sentencing of new designs, methodologies of construction, and temporary works submitted to the Technical Authority.
* Manage design work packages as appointed by Discipline Lead, including planning activities, task durations, effort levels, and costs, and providing design deliverables with regular reviews and progress reports using Earned Value Management methodologies, along with construction support.
* Supervise and guide junior staff on-the-job.
* Utilize Learn from Experience information to develop and share theoretical knowledge related to practical engineering, maintaining a record of skills development.
* Support the development, construction, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of facilities to ensure compliance with design intent, DNSP's standards for Nuclear related Works, and all relevant regulations and legislation.
* Assist in on-site inspection of DRDL assets for construction, maintenance, and modifications.
* Familiarize with DRDL procedures used within Facilities Engineering.
What You Need to Succeed
* Complete a Nuclear Introductory Course or possess equivalent nuclear and/or marine system knowledge.
* Experience in designing mechanical and nuclear process systems such as fresh water, demineralized water, industrial gas systems (low-pressure air, welding gases), mechanical building services, pumping stations (including pipework and valves), and mechanical ventilation systems.
* Knowledge of seismic analysis for mechanical process equipment.
* Experience in substantiation of process equipment to justify Nuclear Safety Functions.
* Understanding of engineering design and safety practices relevant to the role.
* Knowledge of company and departmental procedures related to Health and Safety, Design, and Quality.
* Ability to demonstrate technical management skills throughout the design lifecycle.
* Provide expert advice to subcontracted design teams.
* Project management, planning, and budgeting experience.
* Familiarity with relevant engineering office software.
* Experience supporting the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of conventional and nuclear submarines and/or facilities.
