Geography Lead Teacher – Full-time, permanent
Required From September 2026
MPS/UPS £32,916 - £45,352 FTE plus TLR 2.1
We are looking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Geography Subject Lead to join our growing secondary phase at St Mark's Church of England, all-through school in Southampton. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious teacher to develop their practice and actively contribute to our evolving department. You will lead the development of and actively shape our Geography Curriculum.
St Mark's opened the secondary phase of its all-through school in 2022 when the school moved into brand new facilities. The school is highly oversubscribed and quickly established an excellent local reputation, including a rating of 'good' in all areas by Ofsted in 2022.
The successful candidate will be keen to become an active member of the school community and opportunities for development are rich.
With a rich diversity of backgrounds and cultures from our local community, the post-holder needs to be fully committed to inclusivity and hold a core belief in raising aspirations for every child regardless of their background and individual needs.
Being part of a growing school is a rare and exciting opportunity and the unique context of being Southampton's only all through school, gives candidates an opportunity to work across all ages with a range of staff as we further expand and gain a really broad range of experiences.
To be successful, you will need to uphold our schools strong Christian values of Love, Service and Belonging and live these values as you work with colleagues to support our children and our community. As well as this, you will be highly organised and passionate teacher with evidence of professional development gained within the last two years.
