Our goal is to double our fundraising income over the next three years, in line with our 2024–2027 Fundraising Strategy, enabling more children and families to access our life-changing services and ensuring our impact continues to grow sustainably.
The Role
This is a rare opportunity to lead and shape the future of a life-changing children's charity.
We are seeking an experienced and inspiring Head of Fundraising to provide strategic leadership across all fundraising activity at The Movement Centre. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role with organisational-wide responsibility for income growth, delivery of the 2024–2027 Fundraising Strategy, and the development of a high-performing fundraising team.
You will lead the fundraising team, which currently includes:
• A Fundraising Manager (Trusts & Foundations and Corporate)
• A Community Fundraiser
• An Events & Marketing Apprentice
You will work closely with the CEO, the Clinic Lead Physiotherapist, and the senior leadership team, and will report directly to the CEO.
As a member of the senior leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of The Movement Centre, acting as a senior ambassador for the charity and ensuring we have the income, partnerships, and supporter base needed to deliver our mission at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Guided by our mission and values of Compassion, Credibility, Commitment and Creativity, you will:
• Lead the development and delivery of the 2024–2027 Fundraising Strategy, with clear plans to double income over three years.
• Provide strong, visible leadership to the fundraising team, setting direction, managing performance, and building a high-performing, motivated culture.
• Take strategic ownership of a balanced portfolio of income streams, including trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, community fundraising, events, and individual giving/major donors.
• Act as a senior ambassador for The Movement Centre, building and stewarding high-value relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders.
• Work with the CEO on income forecasting, budgeting, performance reporting, and Board reporting.
• Ensure robust systems, processes, and reporting are in place to track income, ROI, and impact.
• Identify and develop new fundraising opportunities, partnerships, and income streams.
• Contribute to the wider strategic leadership of the organisation.
Person Specification
You will be a confident, credible and values-led fundraising leader, motivated by our mission and comfortable operating at senior level. You will lead with compassion, bring credibility through strong decision-making, show commitment to results, and apply creativity to growing income.
