Job Description:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Gatehouse Security Officer to join Kingdom Services Group, working at a site in Orkney KW16 area.

Hours: On average 42 hours per week, shifts as per site rota. 4 on 4 off, Monday to Sunday 07:00 - 19:00.
Pay rate: £14.00 per hour.
Please note: If you are the right applicant and do not hold an SIA licence, we will put you through the SIA course & deduct the cost from your wage.

Responsibilities
* Introduce yourself at the start of a new shift. Have a "can do" attitude, accept reasonable instructions, smile, acknowledge, say hello, use eye contact, and engage during shift. Cultivate a good team working relationship (including with local police). Wear appropriate contract uniform, ID card, and SIA license. Be proud of your appearance and professionalism. Be knowledgeable.
* Asset protection (stock, property, people).
* Be aware of location layout. Conduct high-profile visual patrols. Stay observant and vigilant. Identify hot spots and areas of concern. Deter persons with intent to commit a crime. Contribute to a safe work environment and reduce losses.
* Ensure safety and security.
* Book on/off and make safety calls at scheduled intervals. Be familiar with life safety systems and safe work procedures (alarms, first aid, fire doors, etc.). Make calm and safe decisions, record and escalate issues appropriately.
* Follow assignment instructions (AIs).
* Maintain content awareness, including breaks & welfare, mobile phone & headset policies, smoking policy, risk assessments, and crisis management.
* Perform general responsibilities: access & egress control, CCTV monitoring, key control, site patrols, checks & lockdowns, equipment maintenance, daily log book, arrests & searches (aware of policies), administration.
Person Specification
* A valid SIA licence is preferred.
* A full five-year checkable employment history.
* Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Good judgment and professionalism.
