Job overview

We are looking for a proactive person with administrative experience to join a friendly team as part of the integrated Breast Service. The role will provide secretarial support to the management of the Breast Screening Programmes in both East and West Sussex.

Main duties of the job

Provide an efficient, effective medical secretarial service to the Breast Screening Department, supporting the service with Quality Management Systems and working closely with the Quality and Improvement Manager to deliver a safe and effective Quality Management system for the service.

Use the National Breast Screening Service database and CRIS system to ensure that the service runs in accordance with policy.

Manage the ordering of consumables/non consumables in the Screening Service, regularly ensuring we have a sufficient supply. Reviewing the contracts, ensuring you communicate when they are up for renewal and working with internal and external services to extend or renew contracts whilst keeping master copies up to date.

To support the increase in very high risk referrals. To undertake audits and failsafe checks to meet the national standards.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Please note: This role does not meet the minimum criteria for visa sponsorship under the current UK immigration rules, which set specific salary and skill thresholds. Experience/Qualifcations

Essential criteria

1. ensive secretarial and administrative experience in a medical environment.
2. Experience of working with quality management systems/quality assurance
3. Experience of dealing with the general public
4. English and Maths GCSE or equivalent.
5. Knowledge of Teams, Windows & Office.

Desirable criteria

6. Experience of bespoke Breast Screening Computer System (NBSS)
7. Previous experience in the NHS or in a related field

Skills

Essential criteria

8. Communication skills – ability to communicate
9. Good organisational skills - with examples

Desirable criteria

10. Evidence of organising meetings and minute taking.

People Management and Development

11. Ability to pass on skills and knowledge to others
