Job Title: Naval Architect - Floating Systems Integrity Management
Objective: To implement and maintain the Oceaneering Floating Systems integrity management service, ensuring the continued integrity of offshore production facilities in compliance with company and client requirements, legislation, and industry standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide technical leadership in Naval Architecture, delegate tasks to junior engineers, and review their work.
2. Support clients with integrity management, inspection, and maintenance activities for floating systems (hull and topsides structures).
3. Ensure projects adhere to industry codes, standards, classification rules, legislation, and company policies.
4. Develop and maintain integrity and inspection management strategies and risk assessments for floating systems.
5. Plan and execute short- and long-term activities aligned with client planning processes.
6. Manage development and approval of inspection work scopes and ensure all parties are informed and prepared.
7. Review and endorse inspection reports, including third-party NDE reports, confirming compliance with strategies and work scopes.
8. Assess reported defects, investigate anomalies, and communicate findings to clients, advising on immediate threats to integrity.
9. Draft detailed reports analyzing inspection data and recommending repair strategies.
10. Build strong internal and external relationships with the integrity team, clients, contractors, and offshore personnel.
11. Conduct offshore visits, site surveys, or inspections as required.
12. Promote innovative methods and technologies to enhance service efficiency.
13. Assist in reviewing and updating Oceaneering processes related to floating systems.
14. Contribute to bids, proposals, and support business development activities.
15. Support contract management by ensuring technical delivery and managing budgets and forecasts.
Non-Essential Duties
* Undertake additional tasks as required within the scope of the role.
* Participate in special projects as instructed by management.
Qualifications
Required:
* Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture or related disciplines such as Structural or Mechanical Engineering.
Desired:
* Master’s degree in Naval, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering.
* Professional engineer status (e.g., CEng, EUR ING, PE).
* Offshore medical and survival certifications.
Knowledge, Skills, and Characteristics
* At least 5 years of relevant experience.
* Understanding of floating systems and hull integrity methods.
* Knowledge of classification society rules for structures and mooring systems.
* Experience with inspection, NDE methods, and classification surveys.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
* Strong client and stakeholder relationship skills across diverse cultures and seniority levels.
