The Role
We are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety Manager to take full responsibility for all EHS activities across our manufacturing site.
This is a key leadership role where you will ensure legal compliance, drive continuous improvement, maintain ISO management systems, and promote a proactive health & safety culture throughout the business.
You’ll work closely with management and operational teams to minimise risk, improve standards, and ensure environmental compliance at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and maintain the company’s Health & Safety Management System
Maintain and develop ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems
Ensure compliance with COMAH, DSEAR, ATEX and environmental legislation
Conduct and review site risk assessments and internal audits
Develop and update EHS policies and procedures
Deliver and coordinate H&S training, inductions and refresher programmes
Investigate accidents/incidents and liaise with regulatory authorities when required
Manage emergency preparedness and contractor safety processes
Support and coach managers and employees to improve site safety performance
Manage environmental monitoring, reporting and waste compliance
Liaise with the Environment Agency and other governing bodies
Maintain records relating to chemicals, PPE, fire safety and training
Mentor and develop the EHS Officer
What We’re Looking For
NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma (essential)
Experience within a manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of UK Health, Safety & Environmental legislation
Working knowledge of COMAH, DSEAR and ATEX regulations
Experience in contractor management, risk assessments and emergency planning
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
Degree in Health & Safety or related discipline desirable

40 hours per week
