The programme portfolio includes our BDUK, commercial and B2B work streams as well as the Risk Management associated with such programmes. As the Project Professional you will be accountable for creating a cohesive view of all the projects within your area, ensuring we are working in a standardized and efficient way, making use of project management methodologies where appropriate. You will prioritize activities to ensure all activity is on track, enabling our programme output & customer commitments. You must ensure your delivery is underpinned by cost, quality and time. The Project Professional will work collaboratively across programmes to identify, manage and document opportunities, risks and threats. Providing robust and factual analytical insight. Commercial decisions may need to be signed off by way of a business case. Main Responsibilities: Responsible for supporting a common set of best practices, principles, and project documentation templates for managing projects as well as tracking and reporting on projects. Ultimately, the project professional is responsible for overseeing an allocated project from start to finish. This will include responsibility for: Planning the project Engineering feasibility assessment (may include survey and design) Creating a schedule and timeline Executing each phase Managing the budget Serving as the liaison among all stakeholders Troubleshooting and maintenance The Project professional will be responsible for the overall governance, effective performance, project management and detailed reporting of associated activities and progress to management hierarchy this will include reporting project status on a weekly basis and on occasions reporting to the SLT and external partners. Key Activities: While Project Professional duties and responsibilities will vary, they typically include: Leading the planning and implementation of projects. Defining a project’s scope and goals. Planning and scheduling project timelines. Coordinating internal project teams, which may include external contractors. Resource planning and allocation. Quality assurance. Carrying out risk assessment. Managing project administration, including all documentation. Meeting budgetary objectives - monitoring and contributing to ensure budgets and initiatives across the business are achieved. Reporting regularly to senior management. Managing client relationships. Tracking project performance. Project evaluations and results measurement. Follow a standard process, as defined by a professional project management organisation. Support the business managers across all disciplines, assisting all delivery functions when required and general admin duties. Information Resources - Responsible for maintaining one or more information systems where this is a significant job responsibility. Production of detailed work programme / project plans. The role holder will also use their initiative to identify gaps in processes and define improvements as required The role holder will represent our business in all that they do so they will need to demonstrate our passion for connecting Cornwall & Devon. Essential Person Specification Knowledge: Experience in project FTTP project management and PMO roles. Excellent knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office Applications Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Project Skills/Attributes: Must be flexible and willing to adapt Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Attention to detail, analytical skills and ability to multitask Strong administration skills Ability to demonstrate results via detailed reporting. Self-starter and motivator. Excellent organisational skills, to plan the use of people and resources to meet deadlines. The ability to use your initiative and make decisions under pressure. Demonstrates initiative with regards to Problem Solving Confident and natural communicator with an inspiring quality Excellent IT skills, particularly in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications Experience: Previous experience on UK FTTP / FTTH projects Experience of working with Contract Frameworks such as NEC3 Qualifications: PRINCE 2 or similar Full UK driving license and own transportation English and Maths qualifications grade C or equivalent Circumstances: Normal office hours apply 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday. This role will also involve some travel to Wildanet sites and suppliers to monitor progress.
