We are looking for a Technical Engineering Manager to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. In this role, you will collaborate with the Associate Director of Estates to ensure compliance with regulations and implement high engineering standards. You will have a strong technical background with in-depth knowledge and expertise in the relevant field of engineering. You should possess project management experience, stay updated on industry trends and best practices, and have a proven track record of aligning technical strategies with organizational goals. Your ability to review maintenance schedules, provide technical guidance, foster collaboration among engineers, and promote a strong safety culture will be essential in this role. You will have strong communication and analytical skills, knowledge of Health and Safety regulations, and experience in Electrical / Mechanical engineering. There will be some traveling required across our five sites; therefore, a driving license is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Resolve engineering issues within a project or maintenance task.
2. Answer technical queries.
3. Produce technical reports.
4. Appraise mechanical and electrical proposals prior to installation.
5. Review mechanical and electrical installations once built.
6. Oversee and manage engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
7. Implement a technical strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
8. Identify technology trends and advancements that can enhance engineering processes and outcomes.
9. Review Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules for technical compliance.
10. Assist in the production of tender documents for works packages and major projects.
11. Provide technical guidance and expertise in the analysis of engineering projects.
12. Ensure that designs meet functional requirements, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
13. Develop and implement technical strategies for emergency preparedness and response, including disaster recovery plans, backup systems, and contingency protocols.
14. Ensure that critical healthcare systems remain operational during emergencies.
15. Develop, implement, and review life cycle analysis plans against assets to ISO 14040 and 14044.
Who we are looking for:
An experienced engineer with highly developed, advanced technical knowledge of complex engineering systems ideally within a hospital setting. A professional membership in CIBSE, IET, IMechE, MSOE, IHEEM, or similar is essential. A strong communicator with experience of presenting technical issues to senior management.
