Independence Manager (Personal Independence), Risk Management, CBS, Belfast
Within the professional services environment, appropriate risk management is fundamental to the successful delivery of our client services and the promotion and protection of our brand. The Risk Management (RM) group at EY covers audit Independence, anti-bribery, anti-money laundering, data protection, enterprise and business risk, and other regulatory areas. It promotes, protects, and supports risk management within the business, upholding standards, maintaining the brand's value, and ensuring compliance with relevant rules and regulations.
The UK Independence Team, part of the UK Risk Management Group, reports directly to senior management. Due to significant expansion, we are recruiting several Manager roles within the Personal Independence area, based in Belfast, with some travel to London.
Responsibilities include:
* Managing and overseeing the Belfast-based team, setting targets, and monitoring performance.
* Acting as the first point of contact for junior team members' queries.
* Recruiting and training new hires.
* Supporting EY Partners and staff with Independence-related queries via a support helpdesk.
* Collaborating with the London team to ensure seamless service delivery.
* Managing EY systems and processes to meet quality control standards under ISQM1.
* Responding to regulatory requests and practice reviews, preparing reports, and implementing actions.
* Ensuring new hires are compliant with Independence requirements.
* Supporting Independence Partners and Directors as needed.
Qualifications:
* Current manager-level experience in risk or compliance, with team management skills.
* Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging at all levels.
* Proactive, commercial approach to independence challenges, ensuring compliance.
* Strong project management, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
* Adaptability and flexibility.
Preferred: Experience with process implementation, knowledge of UK FRC Ethical Standard, IESBA Code of Ethics, US SEC regulations, and risk management environment.
