We are currently recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to work across a range of primary schools in Sandwell and Dudley, supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide targeted support to pupils with additional learning, emotional, or behavioural needs. You may work one-to-one or in small groups, helping pupils to access the curriculum, develop independence, and feel safe and supported within the school environment. These roles are not subject-specific and may involve supporting pupils with a range of needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN, including SEND
* Support pupils with needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, or learning disabilities
* Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum in line with their individual needs
* Implement strategies outlined in EHCPs, IEPs, or support plans
* Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
* Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support staff
* Support pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development
* Ensure safeguarding, welfare, and health & safety procedures are followed at all times
Essential Qualifications & Experience
* Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role
* Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
* A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
* Strong behaviour management and communication skills
* Reliable, organised, and adaptable
Desirable Skills & Attributes
* Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or complex needs
* Understanding of EHCPs, behaviour plans, and intervention strategies
* Team Teach or other positive behaviour support training (desirable, not essential)
* Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
* Flexible and confident working across different school environments
