TheMaxwell Underground Mine, owned byMalabar Resources Ltdhas commenced operations at their Hunter Valley site, with planned production of up to 8 million tonnes of per annum. With approvals in place out to 2046, the mine targets high quality coal with the majority being metallurgical coal.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are currently seeking Electrical Shift Engineers to join our growing Team. Reporting to the Senior Electrical Engineer, the Electrical Shift Engineers will primarily be responsible for supervision of trades and engineering activities on-shift that enables safe and efficient operation of the mine.
What you will be doing:
* Overseeing the maintenance of equipment in a ‘fit for purpose state’, ensuring compliance with relevant site and statutory standards.
* Development of Safety Management System documentation including Safe Work Instructions and JSA’s
* Undertaking and directing maintenance activities on shift as needed
* Co-ordination of resources on shift to support delivery of the daily plan
* Submission of shift reports, both written and oral
* Assisting Undermanager / Deputy investigate engineering related incidents or accidents on shift.
* Mentoring of on shift Trades in the effective performance of their duties
* Management of attendance, discipline and performance of on shift personnel
* Promoting the training and development of personnel on shift
* Taking action to improve and promote safety and productivity in the mine.
* Ensuring compliance with site policies and procedures
* Leading team meetings and communicating effectively with team members.
ABOUT YOU:
To be successful in this role, the applicant will possess:
* Relevant Engineering qualification (or currently undertaking, accompanied by an applicable Trade Certificate)
* 5 Years’ experience an underground coal mine
* Sound knowledge of mining processes, including practical knowledge of mining equipment
* Thorough understanding of the work health and safety legislation in the coal industry
* Strong report writing skills
* Sound planning, organisational and problem-solving skills
* Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
* Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
