Role Description
The Proposals / Bid Manager will oversee and coordinate the end-to-end bidding process, creating competitive proposals to secure contracts and drive business growth at Denholm Industrial Services.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the bid process from identifying opportunities to submitting proposals, ensuring compliance with client requirements and internal standards.
* Develop compelling and persuasive bid content, including executive summaries, value propositions, pricing models and technical responses.
* Coordinate and facilitate bid review meetings, ensuring key stakeholders provide input and address concerns or issues.
* Lead and coordinate cross-company teams to ensure timely and high-quality submissions. Visit operational sites and other offices to gather information and improve the evidence library.
* Prepare and edit bid documents, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to deadlines.
* The Proposals / Bid Manager will also uphold an understanding of market trends and competitor activity to inform bid strategy.
* Participate in negotiation sessions to secure favourable terms and conditions while focusing on profitability.
* Conduct post-bid analysis and debrief sessions to identify areas of improvement and implement lessons learned for future bids.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Educational background: Bachelor’s degree in management, business, engineering, or a relevant discipline.
* Experience: Proven track record in bid writing, proposal management, or project management.
* Core skills: Strong organizational, leadership, analytical, and strategic thinking abilities.
* Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for liaising with stakeholders and presenting proposals.
* Experience across sectors such as Build, Infrastructure, Power, Marine, Defence, and Process.
* Proven experience as a Proposals / Bid Manager or similar role in sales.
* Excellent project management and leadership skills.
* Strong understanding of sales strategies and market trends.
* Superb written and verbal communication skills.
* Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Confident communicator capable of engaging with senior stakeholders and operational teams.
* Strategic mindset with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
* Experience working in a deadline-driven environment with multiple stakeholders. Technical proficiency:
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
* Familiarity with bid production/management software is advantageous.
* Knowledge of MS Project, Adobe InDesign useful but not essential
