Head of Planning and Programme Controls – Northwest Region
Are you a client focused team player with the ability to engage and build relationships? Can you provide functional leadership that enables exceptional results on a wide range of infrastructure projects? Do you want to play a part and make a difference in a growing region?
Following our success in securing multiple Network Rail CP7 Frameworks we have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Planning and Programme Controls to join our team, based out of our Carlisle or Chorley office - and there has never been a better time to join!
The ideal candidate
As a key player in our senior management team you will influence regional direction and develop your function to deliver current and future business plans. Recognising the importance of early decision making and long term planning, you will provide meaningful management information for portfolio and project performance that supports rapid and effective management team intervention where required.
Working within a Network Rail environment, you will lead a team that includes portfolio planning, project planning, track access planning, performance reporting and continuous improvement. Committed to developing our people, you will lead development of the project planning team, including creation of NEC4 compliant schedules, earned value reporting, schedule risk management and delay analysis.
Passionate about continuous improvement, you will identify underperforming portfolios and projects across the region and working with the wider management team use improvement techniques to capture root cause and create action plans for improvement.
Short on some of the skills?
This is a long term strategic appointment, and we recognise that some great candidates may not have all of the skills required. For candidates who can demonstrate commitment and great behavior but may lack some of the skills we can provide training, coaching and mentorship.
We also have plans for diversification into energy and highways and would welcome applications from those with experience in these areas too. You may even have skills that we don’t know we need – so please apply.
