Madison Hunt is working with a leading global independent investment bank providing strategic advisory services to a diverse client base including corporations, governments, and financial sponsors. The London-based Vice President will join the firm’s global energy team, with a particular focus on the oil and gas sector. The individual will play a key role in the origination, execution, and management of complex advisory assignments for clients across the upstream, midstream, downstream, and integrated oil & gas landscape, as well as adjacent energy transition areas. The individual will work closely with senior bankers and lead deal teams to deliver high-impact strategic advice to clients.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead execution of M&A, capital markets, and restructuring transactions in the oil and gas sector.
* Manage multiple workstreams, including financial analysis, valuation, due diligence, and process coordination.
* Direct and develop junior team members (analysts and associates) through mentoring and hands-on guidance.
* Support origination efforts by preparing client materials, pitches, and market insights.
* Maintain and develop strong client relationships with energy corporates, financial sponsors, and institutional investors.
* Monitor market activity and identify new business opportunities aligned with the platform and strategic goals.
* Collaborate with global colleagues across global offices to support cross-border mandates and knowledge sharing.
Required Qualifications
* 6–9 years of investment banking experience, with significant exposure to the oil & gas or broader energy sector.
* Deep transaction execution experience (buy side, sell side, capital markets); exposure to both public and private deals is a plus.
* Strong technical skills in financial modelling, valuation, and strategic analysis.
* Demonstrated ability to manage complex processes and interact with clients at senior levels.
* Proven leadership and team management skills; experience mentoring junior bankers.
* Highly motivated with excellent communication skills and commercial judgement.
* Bachelor's degree from a top-tier institution; MBA or equivalent qualification is advantageous but not required.
