Job Title: Finance Business Partner Location: Portsmouth (HM Naval Base) Service Area: Finance Hours of Work: 37 Per week What You’ll be doing: KBS Maritime is seeking a commercially astute Finance Business Partner to oversee our Core Finance function and drive performance across our operations. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll be at the helm of month-end close, balance sheet governance, and P&L analysis, delivering clear, actionable insights that shape decision-making. You’ll play a critical role in forecasting and budgeting, ensuring financial clarity and control across our Service Delivery, Technical Advisory Services, and Overheads teams. Through close business partnering with operational leaders and cost centre managers, you’ll also influence outcomes, challenge assumptions, and support strategic initiatives that keep our maritime operations running smoothly. This is more than finance, it’s about impact, collaboration, and supporting one of the UK’s most vital defence partnerships. You’ll Have: Ideally, we’re seeking a finance professional with a strong foundation in management accounting within complex organisations, in addition to prior experience in the defence or construction services sectors. You’ll be confident preparing and managing detailed financial transactions, and adept at communicating financial results in a clear, accessible way to non-finance stakeholders. A high level of IT literacy is essential, particularly with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, and familiarity with SAP Business One or other advanced ERP systems will be a distinct advantage. Experience supporting statutory reporting processes, including the preparation of audit-ready information, will round out your skill set and ensure you can hit the ground running in this pivotal role.
