Defence Researchers report to our Managing Editor/Research Lead and provide project-specific equipment updates for our Defence Insight database, as well as support the work of our team of Defence Analysts. THE ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES The accountabilities within the role include: Conducting open-source desk research on military equipment (these data are then entered into our online database tool in line with relevant methodologies); Working on data projects to develop specific data sets to support the analysis team in building data models and methodologies; Monitoring news and events, and providing daily updates on the Defence Insight database; Working collaboratively with business development, editorial, analysis, product and marketing teams; Using the data we hold in Defence Insight and content generated by our editorial team to create market forecasts and bespoke reports. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Were looking for candidates with: a passion for defence; experience and/or knowledge of the defence sector and/or military equipment; a proactive approach to research and the ability to identify, use and synthesise information from multiple perspectives and sources; an enquiring mind and an ability to communicate clearly and effectively; attention to detail, working well with both numerical data and qualitative writing; fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors degree or recent graduate in a relevant field or equivalent relevant work experience.
