A tier 1 leading proprietary trading fund are seeking a highly technical trading systems engineer to support one of their most successful trading desks (systematic) as a \"go to\" for maintenance and improvement. This position will require a high level of competency in python, linux, FIX, SQL and network administration. You'll join the low-latency trading desk to improve latency-sensitive production systems.
What you'll do:
* Maintain and operate real-time low-latency trading systems across numerous markets and datacentres.
* Focus on production systems and be a \"go to\" for troubleshooting incidents and create artifacts for post-mortems to ensure future failures are avoided.
* Work on application upgrade automation to stay current with vendor releases.
* Integrate large amounts of data to improve logging, monitoring and alerting to aid in issue prioritisation.
* Collaborate with networking engineers, traders, and DevOps to ensure best practices and continuous improvement.
We're looking for:
* 5+ years in systems / development.
* Deep experience maintaining and improving linux-based production environments.
* Strong competency in python coding and scripting in shell or bash.
* Troubleshooting buds in software and contribute to permanent fixes.
* A strong focus on continue improvement of workflows.
