Overview
Production Manager – Final Assembly at a world class aerospace manufacturer. Salary: Up to £75,000 plus five weeks’ holiday, 11% pension, share-save scheme, supermarket discounts, on-site gym, and progression opportunity.
Are you an experienced production leader from a precision manufacturing environment?
This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of Final Assembly, driving Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People performance through lean principles.
Responsibilities
* Lead the day-to-day operations of Final Assembly: setting clear priorities, allocating resources, and ensuring safe, compliant and efficient production.
* Address material flow challenges to streamline and harmonise processes, boosting output and delivering more predictable results.
* Manage three direct reports — the Production Supervisor, Production Controller and Logistics Manager — with around 55 professionals reporting through them.
* Run Tiered Accountability, monitor KPIs, coach and develop the team, and deliver continuous improvement across quality, flow and cost.
* Strengthen workforce capability through training, development and succession plans to ensure the right skills are available to meet customer demand.
* Be accountable for achieving performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People.
What we’re looking for
* Proven leadership and demonstrable success within a precision manufacturing assembly
* High mix, low volume manufacturing experience
* ERP fluency and confidence with cycle times, yields and KPIs
* Strong knowledge and experience of working within highly regulated environments
* A proactive, coaching leadership style with strong communication skills
* LEAN certification highly desirable
