Join Laing O'Rourke as a Product Engineer (Volumetric). This is a rare opportunity to join the company's pioneering Technology & Innovation team, an in-house centre of excellence redefining how major infrastructure is conceived, designed, and delivered.
You will work across concept development, technical detailing, and digital enablement, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve speed, quality, and sustainability through volumetric product innovation.
What will the role look like?
* Designing and delivering modular kit-of-parts solutions, supporting R&D and automation strategies
* Leading and contributing to product innovation projects, from concept to business case
* Collaborating with project teams and design specialists to embed systems thinking and MMC principles across key sectors
* Supporting the development of digital design and configuration tools that accelerate efficiency and delivery
What skills & experience are we looking for?
* A foundation in engineering or design, with experience in product development or design consultancy
* Understanding of MMC, programme and cost implications, and how to engineer value through standardisation
* Familiarity with design and modelling tools (e.g. Solidworks or Autodesk), and a willingness to explore parametric or automation design
* Strong stakeholder coordination and project management skills
* A passion for solving real-world challenges and making construction smarter
