You’ll work closely with the MEH IR Manager, local supervisors, senior stakeholders, and trade union representatives, offering essential support across all aspects of case management and ER project work.
* You’ll manage and maintain a register of live cases (investigations, grievances, etc.), ensuring timely and effective case progression.
* You’ll coordinate ER case meetings and hearings in line with the HPC Common Framework Agreement.
* You’ll support the MEH IR Manager with daily advice and guidance to operational teams and supervisors.
* You’ll act as liaison between Altrad and MEHJV parent company HR/IR teams.
* You’ll support and minute-take during MEH Local Joint Council meetings.
* You liaise with Trade Union Convenors recognised at HPC, fostering positive working relationships.
* You’ll compile weekly management reports detailing IR/ER activities.
* You’ll provide monthly metrics and KPIs, including case stages and volumes.
* You’ll proactively flag risks or delays in case timelines to the IR Manager.
* You’ll support wider IR/ER change initiatives and project-based work.
* You’ll advise and coach managers on best practices in line with the HPC Framework.
* You’ll uphold strict confidentiality and act with discretion and integrity at all times.
* Any other HR/ER administrative tasks as required.
What You’ll Bring to the Role:
* You have previous experience in an HR or Employee Relations (ER) role – ideally within a construction, engineering, or unionised environment.
* You have strong working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel (you’ll be handling reports, tracking cases, and compiling metrics).
* You’re CIPD Level 3 or Level 3 CertRP – or working towards qualification.
* You’re a confident communicator with excellent interpersonal and written skills.
* You’re detail-oriented, highly organised, and proactive in supporting multiple stakeholders.
* You have experience dealing with trade unions or industrial relations would be advantageous.
* You have the ability to work independently while knowing when to escalate or seek guidance.
What we offer:
We know that great people do great work when they’re supported, valued, and inspired. That’s why we offer:
* A competitive salary
* 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
* A culture that rewards ingenuity, fosters personal growth, and celebrates success
