The Registered Manager is responsible for effectively and efficiently managing the home INLINE WITH CURRENT LEGISLATION REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS, Including the staff, budgets and resources to ensure that the highest possible standards of care are delivered and appropriately evidenced.
Job Role Specific: -
Operations
To act as the senior professional person within the team.
To ensure that the care and support provided to the families is of the highest quality and that all needs are met, supporting the family in achieving their full potential.
To take the lead in ensuring that everyone is safeguarded.
To ensure that key stages during a placement e.g. admission and discharge are properly managed and recorded.
To take the lead in the development implementation and monitoring of individual plans.
To be responsible for undertaking and reviewing required risk assessments.
To ensure detailed and accurate records are kept on the family file and they are distributed to interested parties as appropriate.
To oversee the recording and report writing of staff and ensure that they are of an acceptable standard.
To work closely and maintain positive working relationships with:
Family Members
Health professionals
Local Authority’s
To promote the health and welfare of families ensuring all health needs are met.
To ensure effective handovers take place and communication is disseminated throughout the team.
To create a homely and well-maintained environment for the families.
Resources/Staffing
To manage the staffing structure/recruitment and rota within the setting.
To follow the guidelines for safer recruitment of new employees.
To ensure all new employees have a full and comprehensive induction.
To ensure that all employees receive regular and effective supervision and appraisal.
To ensure that all staff receive regular and relevant training.
To monitor and manage staff performance and absence.
To ensure effective team meetings take place.
Leadership and Management
To take overall responsibility for staff, delegating effectively and appropriately
To provide leadership, guidance and management to all staff.
To ensure that all employees are aware of their responsibilities.
To ensure that high standards of care are embedded.
To take responsibility for continued professional development.
To participate in the senior on call system.
When required to work as part of the rota.
Health and Safety
To ensure that the organisations health and safety policies are understood and adhered to.
To ensure the appropriate use of equipment and facilities.
General
To do all you can to safeguard children and vulnerable adults as per the settings policies and procedures, including a duty to report anything of concern.
To respect and maintain confidentiality of all matters you learn, including matters relating to customers, service user’s members of staff and contractors.
To observe the requirements of the Data policy GDPR and equality Act and any other legislation and guidance’s which informs and governs business practice.
To attend for work reliably and punctually.
To be part of and ensure the efficiency of the on call rota.
* All staff are expected to work in a flexible way when the occasion arises, ensuring that tasks not specifically covered in their job description are undertaken. These additional duties will normally be comparable with the regular work type.
