Youth Worker Job description West Suffolk College - Bury St Edmunds 1 FTE - 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year - Initial Fixed Term Contract until August 2026 Salary: £25,023 per annum - £26,760 per annum (Dependent on qualifications and experience) Commencing September 2025 West Suffolk College is launching a NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) pilot course to support the large number of 16 to 18 year olds in our county who are currently disengaged from education or work. This programme is designed to help young people re-enter vocational education in a supportive, practical, and inclusive environment. As part of this exciting initiative, we are seeking a Youth Worker who is passionate about making a difference - someone who can build trust, boost confidence, and encourage young people to take the next step in their personal and professional development. In this role, you will provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to help students gain essential life, social, and employability skills. You¼ assist with practical learning activities, off-site experiences, and confidence-building tasks that promote positive engagement and progress.
