The Role
We are seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead our Watford Branch. This is a senior leadership position with full responsibility for branch performance, team leadership, customer relationships, and commercial results.
This role is suited to an established Branch Manager who is confident running a busy plumbing and heating merchant branch and driving consistent performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Full accountability for branch performance, including sales, margin, and cost control
* Lead, motivate, and manage the branch team to deliver excellent customer service
* Drive sales growth through strong relationships with local trade customers and suppliers
* Ensure effective stock management, availability, and stock accuracy
* Maintain high standards of health & safety, compliance, and operational efficiency
* Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing colleagues
* Act as a visible leader within the local trade community across London & the Home Counties
About You
* Proven experience as a Branch Manager within a plumbing, heating, or building materials merchant (essential)
* Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering sales and profitability
* Confident people leader with experience managing and developing teams
* Excellent customer relationship and negotiation skills
* Highly organised, hands-on, and comfortable taking full ownership of branch results
* Strong understanding of stock control, branch operations, and H&S standards
