Specialist SEND Teacher for our Designated Specialist Provision (DSP)
Permanent part time role 0.4 (Tuesdays and Wednesdays)
To start Summer Term 2026
The Governors are seeking to appoint an outstanding teacher to join our large, multicultural school, working with our lead teacher within our DSP, teaching children with communication and interaction difficulties, including Autism.
The successful candidate will join a very hard working and dedicated team of teachers who focus on improving outcomes for the pupils in their care.
We are looking for someone who:
•has experience of working with high needs SEND children
• has knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice (2014)
• is familiar with Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs) and how to implement them
•promotes inclusive practice in a calm and nurturing manner
•has a good understanding of adapting teaching and learning to meet individual needs
•is able to direct support staff
•is an excellent classroom practitioner who is enthusiastic and shows commitment to their role
•is creative, flexible and has a sense of humour
•has high expectations of themselves and pupils' achievements
•is an effective team member who pro-actively takes initiative and contributes to team success.
