What You’ll Do
* Plan and implement activities related to the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials.
* Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions.
* Ensure the availability of materials in the supply chain as scheduled and maintain inventory at minimum acceptable levels.
* Source and supply raw materials, utilities and outside services, and coordinate global procurement efforts.
* Coordinate with finance/accounting on matters involving inventory‑carrying costs.
* Review and plan requirements for acceptable inventory.
* Assist with the establishment and maintenance of the production control system.
* Work with customers in auditing customer inventory levels and with internal and external vendors to comply with inventory policies.
* Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
* Receive assignments in the form of objectives and determine how to use resources to meet schedules and goals.
* Work on issues of a diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors.
* Typically manage a department of Professional track employees, but may also have support track direct or indirect reports.
