Our vibrant services in Wigan and Leigh provide support to people concerned about their own or someone else's alcohol or drug use. We have services in both Wigan and Leigh, and much of our work is carried out in the local communities we serve.
Main duties of the job
You will work as part of a team with the aims of:
* Understanding your clients
* Keeping them safe
* Creating a plan they can achieve with your support
* Checking in with them and reviewing their progress
* Keeping accurate and timely records of your contact with them
* Working effectively with other social care providers, e.g., Housing, to cover all aspects of their successful recovery
* Continuously learning and reflecting to improve outcomes for your clients
* Supporting your colleagues across the service to deliver excellent care

Job responsibilities
If you have a compassionate nature and a genuine desire to help others, you could be just what we're looking for. As a Recovery Worker in the Homeless Team, you will support and advise people experiencing difficulties due to substance misuse. You will have your own caseload, working as part of our team and alongside other social care services to identify how we can help. You will develop plans with your clients to help them regain control of their lives. Person Specification
Qualifications
* Attained ONC/NVQ Level 3 or willing to achieve within 12 months
* A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
* Satisfactory enhanced DBS check
Experience
* Experience in health, social care, or related settings
* Ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues
* Teamwork skills and resilience under pressure
* Good communication skills, IT proficiency, and organizational skills
* Flexibility in working hours and willingness to support other locations
Priority given to applicants with experience working with substance users and knowledge of health and safety, including high-risk assessments. A driving license and vehicle are preferred but not essential.
