Job Description
Stoke City Football Club of the English Football League is looking for an Academy Medical Lead to support its academy medical operations primarily based at Clayton Wood Training Ground.
The successful applicant will report to the Academy Technical Director and the first team medical department and will be responsible for leading, facilitating and developing provisions of all physiotherapy services to players in the Academy as well as promoting and protecting the health and wellbeing of all Academy players.
Main Responsibilities
1. Updating the Academy Technical Director and Professional Development Phase staff daily on rehabilitation stages of injured players to aid planning of training and games.
2. Providing a full and comprehensive medical and physiotherapy service for all Academy players from Foundation Phase to U23s.
3. Coordinating physiotherapy and medical cover for all U9-U23 games.
4. Implementing and coordinating screening and prehabilitation programmes for all players.
5. Acting as line manager to the Academy Physiotherapists.
6. Liaising with the First Team Head Physiotherapist, Head of Medical and Sporting Director, assisting where required.
7. Ensuring all cardiac screening takes place in line with EPPP guidelines.
